The objective of the training session was to provide participants with an

introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and how it can be used in various fields.

· Introduction to GIS and its applications

· Types of GIS data · GIS data sources and acquisition · GIS data formats · Introduction to GIS software · Basic GIS functions and tools · GIS data analysis and visualization Target Audience: The target audience for the training session were volunteers who are new to GIS or have a basic understanding of GIS. Trainers: The training session was conducted by Md. Nurullah, Sazid Ibna Zaman who have expertise in GIS and have previously conducted similar training sessions. Participants:Volunteers from Geography and Environment Department from Dhaka university and Jagannath University attended the training session. Outcome: The training session was successful in providing participants with a comprehensive introduction to GIS and its applications. Participants gained knowledge and skills on basic GIS concepts, data formats, and software applications. They also learned how to perform basic GIS functions and data analysis. Overall, the training session met its objectives and was well-received by the participants.
