20 volunteered mappers from different organizations, universities and colleges in Bangladesh have been completed extracting communities/settlements from Google Earth on 15th February 2018. Volunteers were chosen during first ever workshop of GroupMappers in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 15th October 2017. A total of 3394 square kilometer area was covered during this study.
We support communicable disease control programs under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) in Bangladesh through collection of high quality, high resolution geospatial data. The initial goal is to map communities in selected rural areas. Once, complete, the next stap will be to label the polygons with the names of communities through crowdsourcing.
