A technical workshop of GroupMappers on “Extracting geospatial data from Google Earth: identification of communities and labelling features” which was held at Cadet College Club in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 15th October 2017. A core expert group was formed during this workshop that consists of 20 volunteers from different organizations, universities and colleges in Bangladesh.
We support communicable disease control programs under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) in Bangladesh through collection of high quality, high resolution geospatial data. The initial goal is to map communities in selected rural areas. Once, complete, the next stap will be to label the polygons with the names of communities through crowdsourcing.
